Are you an experienced Administrator with a customer focused approach? Then we could have just the role for you. We have an exciting opportunity to join our professional and welcoming team.

Working as amember of the administration team to provide a comprehensive administration role to the Unit, ensuring that all patients are dealt with in a professional and courteous manner, which endorses the patient centred approach of the team.

Assist in the clerical function of the Unit. Work proactively to ensure that Outpatient clinics and Theatre lists are filled to capacity at all times and report any shortfalls and of any difficulties experienced with the booking of patients and the capacity available to the Booking Lead & Patient Referral Manager.

Working 22.5 hour a week. You will work 8 hour shifts betweenMonday – Friday 9am – 5pm or 10.00am – 6pm, wework ona rota system so shifts will vary week on week.

Any weekend shifts will be deemed unsociable hours and there will have an increase in the hourly rate should you work them.

What you\’ll be doing

As our Patient Pathway Coordinator you will provide a comprehensive admin service to the unit ensuring that all patients are treated in a professional and courteous manner, endorsing the patient centred approach of the team. fun and rewarding.

· To answer telephone calls from patients, GP surgeries and other hospital staff on all aspects relating to booking appointments. To distribute calls and messages.

· Provide advice in all matters relating to patient’s appointments, both by telephone and face to face.

· To contact patients on internal waiting lists to offer earlier appointments.

· To process and manage referrals in order to meet the requirements of Practice Plus Group performance objectives.

· To book theatre and outpatient sessions within strict booking guidelines adhering to breach dates and ensuring optimal utilisation of clinic lists.

· To be responsible for requesting transport via the reception team

· To use the computer system to record patient information including cancellations, DNA’s and patient’s attendance to outpatients or for theatres.

· To coordinate booking of Outpatient clinics

· To be flexible to work to shift patterns this will include evenings and weekend working hours.

· To understand and become fully conversant with the Practice Plus Group competency model and its application.

· To help meet our national RTT waiting times within the referral process

· Maximise Theatre and OPD capacity

What we’ll look for in you

You will be experienced in dealing with the public, both in person and over the phone, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to manage difficult situations in a calm manner.

Your previous experience of working in a reception role in a healthcare or service sector will be invaluable but just as important is your ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, work flexibly and prioritise your own workload when under pressure.

You will also have:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable working using your initiative, follow instructions and prioritise a busy workload
  • Strong communication skills (Written and Phone)

What you can expect in return;

  • A full-time equivalent salary of £24,232 pa (£14,539.21 pa for 22.5 hours a week)
  • Work 22.5 hours a week; 8 hour shifts betweenMonday – Friday 9am – 5pm or 10.00am – 6pm, shifts will vary week on week
  • Any weekend shifts will be deemed unsociable hours; an increase in the hourly rate
