We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon – Foot and Ankle Specialist to join our highly regarded surgical team at Practice Plus Group Hospital, Shepton Mallet.

What you\’ll be doing
As our Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon (Foot and Ankle), you will:
- Lead on the delivery of Foot and Ankle orthopaedic procedures, including elective reconstructions, arthroscopies, and forefoot and hindfoot surgery.
- Provide high-quality, patient-focused care throughout the full surgical pathway — from assessment and diagnosis to surgery and postoperative management.
- Work collaboratively with anaesthetists, theatre staff, nurses, physiotherapists, and RMOs to ensure safe and efficient patient journeys.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and clinical governance activities to maintain the highest standards of safety and care.
- Support audit, research, and continuous improvement initiatives across the orthopaedic department.
- Contribute to training and mentoring of junior doctors and theatre staff, helping to foster a positive learning environment.

What we’ll look for in you
We’re looking for a dedicated and experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a passion for Foot and Ankle surgery and a commitment to clinical excellence. You’ll bring:
- Full GMC registration and inclusion on the Specialist Register in Trauma & Orthopaedics.
- Extensive experience in Foot and Ankle surgery, with a proven track record of delivering excellent surgical outcomes.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- A patient-centred approach and genuine enthusiasm for delivering outstanding care.
- A commitment to audit, governance, and the continuous development of clinical practice.
