We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP Lancaster Farms, a category C Prison located in the outskirts of Lancaster, Lancashire. HMP Lancaster Farm consists of 550 males.
Hours: Monday - Friday 37.5 hours per week. Service is open from 8am - 6pm. 37.5 hours can be done over 4 or 5 days. One weekend every 6-8 weeks.
Salary: This position is full time, you will receive an annual salary up to £33,232 - £40,211 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing:
- Work within a multi-disciplinary team carrying out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options.
- Undertake medication rounds, and assess and treat patients who may have undergone traumatic experiences and may be distressed.
- Assess patient's health needs using an evidence-based framework and be able to risk assess using sound clinical knowledge.
- Work with individuals providing advice, support and information and manage a caseload of patients.
- Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference.
- Monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects liaising with prescribers as required.
- Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders.
- Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence-based care.
- Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care, building strong multi-disciplinary teams and supporting each other to do a great job.

Qualifications required:
- Qualified Mental Health Nurse - NMC registration
- Evidence of Continued Professional Development
- Experience of working with patients, face to face, who have complex mental health conditions
- Experience of psychosocial interventions, group work and awareness of substance misuse
- Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
