About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a BANK Primary Care Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Leicester, a category B Remand Prison located in Leicestershire. HMP Leicester is a male prison with the capacity of 356, 80% of the prisoners are on remand.

Bank Hours: Monday - Sunday – Day shifts only 7.30am – 6pm, 7.30am – 8pm

Bank Hourly Rate: Weekdays – £23.83, Weekends – £25.68, Bank Holidays – £30.82

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

What you'll be doing:

  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse led service and prevent hospital admissions
  • Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening
  • Use your skills and knowledge to deliver nurse led clinics to your patient group whilst being supported by a multi-disciplinary team
  • Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them
  • Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference
  • Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders
  • Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence based care and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning
  • Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care, building strong multi-disciplinary teams

Qualifications required:

  • Registered nurse – Adult – NMC
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
