About The Role:

Practice Plus Group is seeking a solicitor to enhance its inquests & regulatory team.

Our National Inquests & Regulatory Team consists of specialists advising the largest independent provider of healthcare services in the UK.

Our activities cover the whole spectrum of primary and secondary healthcare services and also operate in some very challenging healthcare environments.

As our Inquest Solicitor, you will have a passion for regulatory work and experience in some or all of Inquests, Prison Law, Medical Law, Information Governance & General Litigation.

This role offers the opportunity to learn from and work alongside experienced professionals in these areas and to develop within a supportive team environment.

This is a full-time role, fully home based with travel as necessary.

What you’ll be doing:

As our Inquest Solicitor, your main duties will be:

  1. To undertake work in Inquests and Regulatory work nationally.
  2. To work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  3. Preparing cases, attending client conferences, taking witness statements, attending Court and conducting your own advocacy where appropriate & advising internal ‘clients’.
  4. To be able to review, analyse and organise large volumes of materials in order to prepare for evidential hearings.
  5. To ensure you maintain an up-to-date knowledge of relevant areas of regulatory law, updates, legislation, case reports etc.

This list is not intended to be exhaustive and you will have other duties and responsibilities that fall within the remit of the role.

What we’ll look for in you:

With your 3+ years post qualification experience and a genuine and demonstrable interest in the above area of work, you will also have:

  1. A passion for regulatory law and inquests.
  2. Ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
  3. Ability to work to deadlines and targets.
  4. Experience of coronial, civil & criminal practice and process is desirable.
  5. Good organisational skills.
  6. Good communication skills.
  7. A flexible approach to the work you do, and able to adapt to different tasks.
  8. Bring enthusiasm and an eagerness to learn.
