We’re looking for an accomplished Senior Finance Manager to provide strong financial leadership at Practice Plus Group Hospital Ilford, with strategic oversight of Surgical Centre Gillingham. This is a high-impact role where you’ll work closely with senior clinical and operational leaders to shape decision‑making, improve performance and support sustainable growth.
Based primarily on site at Ilford, with occasional travel to Head Office in Reading, you’ll be a key member of the hospital’s Senior Management Team, using insight and analysis to influence strategy and deliver real operational value in a fast‑paced healthcare environment.
What you’ll be doing:
- Acting as the senior finance lead for the hospital, supporting the Hospital Director and operational teams
- Delivering accurate, insightful month‑end management accounts, forecasts and variance analysis
- Leading budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes
- Providing forward‑looking financial insight to identify risks, opportunities and performance trends
- Owning balance sheet control, reconciliations and compliance with financial policies
- Supporting contract management, billing processes and income assurance
- Monitoring operational performance including theatre utilisation, cancellations and staffing costs
- Leading, developing and coaching a multidisciplinary finance team
- Presenting complex financial information clearly to non‑financial stakeholders
- Supporting business cases, capital expenditure and new business opportunities
What we’ll look for in you:
- Proven senior finance leadership experience within a complex, operational environment
- Strong commercial acumen with experience supporting operational decision‑making
- Excellent analytical and financial modelling skills
- Confident communicator able to influence senior clinical and operational stakeholders
- Experience managing and developing high‑performing teams
- A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset with the ability to work under pressure
- Healthcare experience is desirable, but not essential
