About The Role
Healthcare Support Worker
Salary £25,557 – £29,723 FTE
Hours – 30 hours per week. Monday – Sunday between 9am – 8pm – 3 long shifts per week.
Here at Practice Plus Group, we are looking for a healthcare support worker to join the team at HMP Altcourse – the busiest remand prison in the country! Is it challenging? Yes! Is it rewarding…Yes! But you will be supported at all times, and you can really can make a difference.
We’re looking for dedicated, caring and compassionate people to help deliver the best care possible.
Joining the primary care team, you will:
- Run clinics on the wings, including bloods and vaccinations.
- Be involved in care packages, including phlebotomy, venepuncture, ECGs and observations.
- Respond to emergency situations.
- Work with the wider nursing team across the prison.
What do we need from you:
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or Care Certificate.
- Clinical knowledge – venepuncture, phlebotomy would be a bonus!
- A caring approach, with the drive to help those in your care.
