We have a fantastic opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the team at HMP Garth, a high security Category B male prison located in Leyland. HMP Garth has capacity of around 850, and houses men serving long term and indeterminate sentences. This role sits within our Primary Care team, where you will support with clinics, work with pharmacy and respond to emergency situations – no 2 days are ever the same!
Responsibilities
- Support clinical clinics as part of the Primary Care team
- Work with pharmacy to ensure effective medication management
- Respond to emergency situations and contribute to urgent care as needed
- Assist with daily healthcare delivery and patient care within a high-security setting
Hours
This position is full time working 37.5 hours per week on a rota basis.
The rota is:
- Week 1 — Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday
- Week 2 — Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Shifts are 07:30 – 19:45. We have an 8 week rota, and 2 of those weeks are night shifts, working the same as above, but 19:45 – 07:30.
Salary
You will receive an annual salary of between £25,557 – £29,723 per annum depending on experience.
