We have an exciting opportunity for a Primary Care Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Millsike, a category C Prison located in Full Sutton, East Yorkshire. HMP Millsike is a newly built prison with an operational capacity of 1500 places. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a new healthcare team from the inception of a brand new prison site.
Job summary
In this role you will be working with a multi‐disciplinary team that will support you and help you succeed.
Hours
37.5 hours a week working a rolling 5‐week shift pattern, with 1 weekend in 5. Week 1, working Monday and Tuesday 07:00 – 19:15 plus weekend; Week 2, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 07:00 – 19:15. Weekend shift is 08:15 – 18:00.
Salary
This position is full time; you will receive an annual salary up to £41,659 per annum – depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK and, due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
Main duties of the job
- Work within a multi‐disciplinary team to deliver a nurse‐led service and prevent hospital admissions
- Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening
- Use your skills and knowledge to deliver nurse‐led clinics to your patient group whilst being supported by a multi‐disciplinary team
- Provide outstanding evidence‐based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them
