We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to be one of the first to join our team at HMP Millsike, a Category C men's prison, located in Full Sutton near York. HMP Millsike is a newly built prison with an operational capacity of 1500 places. As part of the government's drive to cut reoffending, prisoners spend their sentences learning the skills they need to find work on release.
You will be part of a new Pharmacy Team, including Pharmacists, a Pharmacy Manager and Accuracy Checking Technicians. There are lots of opportunities for development within this role, including ACT training upon successful completion of probation.
Hours
Full time is 37.5 hours a week. Working on a 10 week rolling rota.
- Week 1: 3 long days 6.45am-7.15pm.
- Week 2: 2 long days 6.45am-7.15pm, plus weekend 8.00am-5.45pm.
Salary
Annual salary up to £41,659 per annum, depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
- Assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high‐quality prison pharmaceutical service, maintaining a high level of security.
- Hold direct patient contact as part of a comprehensive healthcare package.
- Share information relating to pharmaceutical products, medicines management, drug regimes and medicines.
- Work as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
Qualifications
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Up to date with Continual Professional Development (CPD).
- Relevant post‐qualification pharmacy experience.
- Able to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures.

- Experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
