About The Role

Our Health in Justice service line is expanding into non-Custodial healthcare, a person-centred approach delivered via a solid and consolidated infrastructure aimed to assess individuals’ mental health and neurodiversity requirements, to redirect them to the most appropriate channel.

Location: Humberside - South Bank

Salary: This position is full time, working 37.5 hours per week and you will receive a salary of £29,264 to £33,510 depending on experience.

Hours: Monday - Friday: 9am - 5pm

Important: Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK due to the nature of the role. Offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

What you’ll be doing

As a Support Time and Recovery Navigator, your responsibilities will vary. You will:

  • Be part of an extended team working across Liaison & Diversion service.
  • Liaise with a wide range of services such as the police, probation, courts and legal services as well as inpatient and community health and social care services.
  • Be involved in the daily support of people in touch with children and adults, including those from hard-to-reach communities to engage and navigate through the Criminal Justice System.
  • Support access to the full scope of identified health needs, including substance misuse (alcohol and drugs), mental and physical health, homelessness, learning disabilities, exploitation, safeguarding and social care issues.
  • Provide practical support to individuals, maintaining a programme of support, working with their families, advocating and enabling access to agencies including probation services, community-based organisations, clinics, courts, mental health services and hospitals.

Qualifications, Skills And Experience Required:

  • Level 3 NVQ/Diploma in Health and/or Social Care or equivalent experience.
  • Experience of working with service users, face to face, with a variety of health needs.
  • Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to gain appropriate level of consent.
  • Understanding of clinical governance, health and safety.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practice, health promotion, NICE guidelines.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible attitude to working arrangements.
  • Motivated as an individual and when working in a team.
  • Patient centred values and ability to promote service user involvement.
