We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced physiotherapist to join our Health in Justice (HiJ) Musculoskeletal (MSK) team on a part time basis, at HMP Huntercombe. This is a category C men's prison in Oxfordshire. This role is 3 sessions per month; total number of hours are 12 hours a month. Salary is between Β£40,000 - Β£49,000 pro rata depending on experience. Secure environments are one of the most challenging but rewarding places for healthcare practitioners to work. You will be supported by a Regional Team Lead and Clinical Lead, so if the prison environment is new to you, support will be available to help you settle in. We also believe in a good work life balance, so the hours can be worked flexibly around your other commitments.
As our physiotherapist, you will:
- Provide care to an MSK caseload, a mixture of acute injuries and chronic conditions, some complex in nature.
- Work as part of an MDT to provide evidence-based care to our cohort of patients. The MDT consists of ANPs, nurses, GPs, pharmacist, psychologists, substances misuse team.
- Work closely with the prison gym staff to enhance the rehabilitation of prisoners.
- Work as an autonomous practitioner in charge of triaging and managing your caseload and diary.
- Work with the wider HiJ MSK Service to implement service improvements.
You Will Have:
- BSc in physiotherapy.
- HCPC registered practitioner.
- Proven post-registration experience of assessing and treating MSK conditions in an outpatient setting.
- Evidence of CPD and work within MSK speciality.
- A non-judgemental and compassionate approach.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent IT skills in MS Word, Outlook.
- Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience of electronic notes systems.
