About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Business Development Manager to join our Health in Justice team here at Practice Plus Group. This brand‑new role, created due to growth, will allow you to influence the direction of the business and our services. It is pivotal as we expand our healthcare services within the criminal justice system. You will be a strong leader, managing and developing a specialised team, and will ideally have experience of managing a bid process from start to finish. The role offers the flexibility of working from home most of the time, with occasional visits to our sites or head offices in Reading or London.
Salary
This position is full time, 37.5 hours per week with a salary of circa £55,000 depending on experience. Hours are usually 9 am – 5 pm, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end bid process for new business and retention of existing business
- Seek out opportunities for business and present to the senior leadership team while leading on the bid model
- Contribute to renewal and retention of existing business
- Write proposals and responses to tender, including key responses
- Carry out market research and gather intelligence on business opportunities
- Directly line‑manage two senior bid writers
- Occasionally visit services across the country and attend meetings in Reading or London
Qualifications, Skills & Experience Required
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, including senior leaders and clinicians
- Experience of managing bid processes from beginning to end, including leading and submission
- Experience running projects at a high level
- Ideally, experience running bids within healthcare, either the NHS or other private providers
- Experience with prisons or the criminal justice system would be beneficial
