We have an exciting opportunity for a Support Worker to join the Primary Care team at HMP Risley, a category C prison located in the Risley area of Warrington.
This is a crucial role within the healthcare team, making a real difference to patients, and delivering outstanding care. HMP Risley has an operational capacity of around 1100 inmates, and is a 20 minute drive from Warrington, and 30 minutes from Wigan.
Hours
This is a full time role, working an average of 37.5 hours per week, between 20:30 – 07:30, and shifts are 7 on, 7 off.
Salary
This position is full time , you’ll receive an annual salary of £25,557 – £29,723 per annum – depending on experience.

What you\’ll be doing
As our new Support Worker, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

• Ensure continuity of care for all patients, and deliver outstanding care at all times
• Work across all areas of care, including inpatients, clinics, primary care, health promotion, bloods etc
• Respond to emergency situations as needed
• Work holistically with your patients and other healthcare staff, including nurses, nursing associates, pharmacy etc
• Deliver personalised, non judgemental care, based on patient feedback
• Contribute to, and implement care packages, assist with health promotion, wellbeing and clinics

Our New Support Worker Will

• Hold a NVQ Level 2 / 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, or equivalent
• Have experience within a healthcare setting – hospital, community or secure setting
• Any experience in primary care or inpatients would be a bonus!
• Have a non-judgemental and compassionate approach
