We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Fosse Way. HMP Fosse Way opened in May 2023. Its state of the art design and facilities offer a secure environment to provide skills and qualifications to the men, enabling them to secure meaningful employment on release with the aim of reducing reoffending rates. This is a full-time position with a salary up to £41,659 per annum, depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
- Provide outstanding quality-based, patient-centred care to patients seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
- Focus on providing a safe and secure medicines management service, ensuring patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard at all times and ensuring standard operating procedures are followed to a high and orderly standard.
- Deliver non-judgemental care within the scope of professional standards, including timely administration of medicines and analysing cost-effective prescribing as defined through our health in justice medicines policy.
- Work as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to make a real difference.

Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC or equivalent
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Up to date with Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
- General GCSE education or equivalent
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
Experience
- Experience in a pharmacy setting or healthcare environment preferred
Additional Criteria
- Evidence of safeguarding awareness and commitment to patient safety
- Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
