We are looking for a Catering Assistant to join the team at Practice Plus Group Hospital, Barlborough.

What You’ll Be Doing
You will be an integral part of a passionate team helping to provide meals for our patients and to ensure they feel that they are receiving a high quality experience. This includes:
- Providing an efficient, high quality dedicated food and beverage service.
- Operating in line with clearly defined standards and in compliance with policies and procedures.
- Involvement in all aspects of food and beverage service to patients at all times whilst on duty.
- Serving meals to inpatients and auditing the completion of a nutritional intake sheet for each meal provided.
- Informing staff of any patient who has refused or not eaten much of their meal for onward management.
- Acting on any patient dietary requests for additional/alternative food or beverages requirements.
- Reporting any difficulty to the Head or Second Chef for onward management.
- Regeneration of chilled/frozen food and preparation of sauces.
- Plating and service of cold and hot food items with meal delivery to patients, including service of condiments.
- Probing and recording food temperatures.
- Recording of equipment temperatures.
- Beverage service to patients, washing and refilling of patients' water jugs and beakers.
- Taking patient orders and communicating the requirements to the catering department.
What We’ll Look For In You
- Familiarity with health code standards for food preparation and presentation.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for working with the general public.
- A team player willing to take on additional tasks to get the job done.
- Familiarity with a variety of food types, menus, recipes, and food presentation.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work in high pressure situations.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Enjoyment of working at a fast pace and within a team environment.
- A Basic Food Hygiene certificate or willingness to work towards one.
- Experience working within a similar role.
