We have an exciting opportunity for Bank Healthcare Assistants to join our Primary Care team at HMP Thameside, a category B prison located in London.

HMP Thameside is a male prison based in North London that has capacity for 1232 inmates. This role is working within inpatients.

Hours

Thameside run 24 hour healthcare.

Shift patterns are either 0700 – 1930 or 1900 – 0730 Monday to Sunday.

This role is bank so will be ad hoc as and when needed – The maximum hours you can do per week is 22.5 or 90 over the month.

Salary

Weekdays – £16.58

Weekends & Nights – £19.18

What you\\\’ll be doing

As a Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Support the registered nurse in implementing an agreed plan of care in association with the patient and in accordance with instructions and training received whilst promoting safe patient care
  • Be willing to develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.

Qualifications required

  • NVQ level 2/3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care
  • A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good IT skills and IT literacy
  • Ability to work within a busy environment
  • Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment
