As an Out of Hours Driver with Practice Plus Group, you will play a vital role in facilitating patient home visits by safely transporting our clinicians to and from appointments during evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. Your contribution will help us maintain seamless and efficient out-of-hours services, ensuring patients can access the urgent care they need when they need it most.
Our Suffolk and North East Essex OOH service is spread across the county with sites in Ipswich, Colchester and Clacton-on-Sea. Our OOH service is open from 18:30-08:00 Monday to Friday and 24 hours over the weekend. We can offer a range of sessions to allow you to flexibly choose the right shift pattern for you.
Responsibilities- Safely drive Practice Plus Group clinicians to and from patient homes during out-of-hours shifts.
- Plan and manage routes efficiently to ensure timely arrival for scheduled visits.
- Assist clinicians with navigation and any necessary logistics related to travel during shifts.
- Ensure vehicle cleanliness, perform safety checks, and report maintenance as required.
- Support the clinical team by being a reliable and professional presence during visits.
- Communicate effectively with the clinical and administrative teams to coordinate travel and schedules.
- Previous experience as a driver, preferably within a healthcare setting.
- Valid UK driving licence with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
- Strong sense of responsibility and commitment to safety at all times.
- Excellent time-management and route-planning skills.
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
