We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our team at Heathrow IRC. Heathrow IRC is based in Colnbrook, West Drayton, providing care to around 820 patients across 2 sites. You will be working closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide high quality patient care. You will deliver clinical sessions, inpatient ward rounds and blood screening. The role suits a candidate who enjoys a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same and has some experience with patients who have a history of substance misuse and detox. Our General Practitioners are valued and respected members of the Prison Healthcare community, and responsibilities will vary.
Responsibilities
- Deliver first-class healthcare to a diverse group of patients and develop knowledge in areas beyond typical practice (including environments such as A&E).
- Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis, determine patient requirements, and make timely decisions regarding future management.
- Act as a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team on site, while working with patients with active involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.
- Support career development and participate in internal and external training opportunities as part of continuing professional development.
Qualifications
- MBChB or MBBS
- Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List
- Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal
- Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse
- RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or willingness to undertake these qualifications

Work Schedule & Benefits
Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm; Saturday and Sunday, 9am-5pm. We can consider both full-time (40 hours per week) and part-time applicants. Salary up to £134,680 per annum FTE, depending on experience. Benefits include bespoke induction, training courses, competency framework, regional and national career development opportunities, learning management system access, and support from the wider team.
