Are you a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse looking for flexible working opportunities within a modern surgical hospital? We are looking for a Bank Registered Ward Nurse to join our nursing team at Practice Plus Group Hospital Ilford. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive and professional environment, delivering outstanding patient care across our inpatient wards. As a Bank Nurse, you'll enjoy the flexibility to work shifts that suit your lifestyle while contributing to excellent patient outcomes and experiences. As our Bank Registered Ward Nurse, you'll provide high-quality, patient-centred care throughout the patient journey, supporting patients from admission through to discharge. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you'll assess, plan, deliver and evaluate care, ensuring patients always receive safe and effective treatment. You'll play a key role in recognising deteriorating patients, maintaining accurate clinical records and supporting junior colleagues within the ward environment. This role is offered on a bank (0-hour) contract. There are no guaranteed hours, and shifts will be offered depending on business needs. You can accept or decline shifts based on your availability, making this a flexible option-but it may not be suitable if you are seeking consistent or full-time hours. As our Bank Registered Ward Nurse, you will be:

  • Admitting patients and completing all relevant clinical documentation.
  • Monitoring patient progress and implementing appropriate care interventions.
  • Recognising and escalating deteriorating patients using NEWS2 assessments.
  • Supporting sepsis recognition and management.
  • Undertaking pain assessments and risk assessments including falls, pressure damage, nutrition and VTE.
  • Administering medications and maintaining accurate electronic patient records.
  • Working collaboratively with consultants, anaesthetists and multidisciplinary colleagues.
  • Supporting the development of Healthcare Assistants, students and junior staff.
  • Participating in audits, quality improvement and service development activities. As a current NMC Registered Nurse with an immediate Life Support (ILS) qualification, you will also have:
  • At least 1 year's post-registration nursing experience.
  • Strong clinical skills including venepuncture, cannulation and IV medication administration.
  • Experience in wound care, fluid management and patient assessment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly across inpatient ward areas.
  • Experience working within a surgical ward environment - desirable.
  • Previous experience acting as Nurse in Charge - desirable. A bank rate of Β£19.96 per hour
  • Flexible shifts to suit your availability
  • Opportunity to work within a high performing clinical team
