UNLOCK YOUR BEST WORK LIFE + make a difference for every patient. We are looking for reliable and friendly individuals to join our Bank Housekeeping Team at our hospital in Shepton Mallet. This is a flexible opportunity where you can work shifts that fit around your life while playing a vital role in keeping our hospital clean, safe, and welcoming for patients, visitors, and colleagues. As part of our hardworking housekeeping team, you will help maintain the high standards of cleanliness that our patients deserve and expect. Bank contract hours will be between 12pm and 12am as this will involve some cleaning in our Theatres, which close after 7pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning both clinical and non-clinical areas of the hospital to agreed standards.
  • Mopping, dusting, and wiping surfaces, plus cleaning toilets and internal glass areas.
  • Using equipment such as buffing, polishing, vacuuming, and carpet cleaning machines (full training provided).
  • Following infection control policies, including safe disposal of clinical waste.
  • Ensuring patient and public safety while working, using appropriate signage.
  • Reporting any repairs needed to the Team Leads promptly.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and demonstrating excellent customer care at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Previous cleaning experience (healthcare experience is a bonus but not essential).
  • Good written and spoken English, with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • A positive, flexible attitude and commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Physically fit to undertake manual handling tasks.
  • Awareness of health and safety practices (training will be provided).
  • Friendly, polite, and adaptable, with a strong team spirit.
