We are looking for experienced and reliable HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our transport team based in Northamptonshire. The role involves a mixture of trunking, shunting, and general haulage duties, ensuring the safe and timely delivery and collection of goods.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out Class 1 (C+E) driving duties, including trunking, shunting, and general haulage.
- Complete timely and accurate deliveries/collections to and from distribution centres, depots, or customer sites.
- Conduct vehicle checks and ensure the vehicle is roadworthy and compliant before use.
- Accurately complete all required delivery documentation and digital records (PODs, manifests, etc.).
- Safely load and unload goods, ensuring correct load security and weight distribution.
- Maintain professional communication with the transport office and customers.
- Adhere to Drivers Hours Regulations, Working Time Directive, and all Company policies.
Requirements
- Full UK Category C+E (Class 1) licence.
- Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
- Minimum of 6 months Class 1 driving experience (preferred).
- No more than 6 penalty points (no DD, DR, IN, or CD endorsements).
- Good knowledge of UK road networks and tachograph legislation.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- A positive, professional attitude and commitment to safe driving.
- Trunking and local shunting shifts to suit work-life balance.
