Role Description
The Home Care Specialist plays a critical role in supporting individuals to live independently, safely, and with dignity within their own homes. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care that aligns with P&R Health Care Solutions\’ ethos and values. Beyond providing day‑to‑day care, you will cultivate meaningful relationships that enhance the physical, emotional, and mental well‑being of those you support. This role is suited to someone with a passion for helping others, who demonstrates patience, reliability, and professionalism. Whether you’re an experienced carer or new to the sector, we will support your development and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, while maintaining dignity and respect.
- Supporting with mobility and transfers, including the safe use of equipment such as hoists and wheelchairs.
- Preparing and serving nutritious meals in line with dietary requirements and preferences.
- Monitoring physical and emotional health, noting and reporting any changes in service users’ condition to relevant colleagues or health professionals.
- Administering or prompting medication in line with individual care plans and training.
- Assisting with exercises and other activities prescribed to improve or maintain health.
- Assisting with household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment.
- Providing companionship, engaging in conversations and activities that enhance service users’ quality of life.
- Accompanying service users to appointments, community activities, or social events where required.
- Liaising with families, health professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure consistent, holistic care delivery.
- Participating in care planning and reviews, offering insights and feedback to tailor services to individual needs.
Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare or social care roles is desirable.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Familiarity with Home Care processes is highly desirable.
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
- Full UK Driving License with access to a vehicle is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in organisational and time‑management skills.
- Understanding of relevant regulations and ethical care standards.
