PQS Survey Ltd is seeking a Service Technician to join our expanding team in Leeds. As a leader in the provision of survey and safety equipment, we are proud to work with exceptional customers, talented staff, and industry-leading equipment. In this workshop-based role, you’ll specialise in the repair, service, and calibration of surveying equipment, ensuring our hire fleet remains in top condition and customers receive the best possible support. Salary Band: Competitive salary based on experience

Hours: 7.30-4.30pm Mon-Fri

The role of a survey equipment technician includes:

  • Carrying out comprehensive safety checks including the testing, maintenance and calibration of all hire and customer owned equipment ensuring all necessary documentation is completed both digitally and physically.
  • Repair of surveying equipment including construction lasers.
  • Maintaining the workshop and equipment as required, ensuring that sufficient volumes of core hire equipment are always available.
  • Managing workloads, prioritising work effectively and efficiently.
  • Providing telephone support to customers.
  • Maintaining stock of spare parts for repairs.
  • Raising purchase orders, organising distribution, and quoting customers based on estimations received.
  • Communicating with customers both through email and on the phone.
  • Attending internal and external training courses as and when required.
  • Liaising with national teams and offering support if required.

Full training on the equipment and systems will be given both in-house, and by manufacturers for official manufacturer certification. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who would relish a hands-on technical role with the chance to develop and advance their knowledge of survey products within the surveying and construction industry.

Our ideal applicants will have:

  • A high level of IT Literacy – the department operates documentation both digitally and physically.
  • An understanding of electronics and the use of multi-meters and other test equipment.
  • Experience in the hire and survey industry is beneficial.
  • Drive and motivation to learn.
  • A desire to deliver results and ability to work under pressure.
  • A team player.
  • A full UK Driving License is preferred.
