The Role
As our National Sales Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving our ambitious growth plans and expanding our operations across the UK. You will lead and support a dynamic sales team across all business streams—survey, safety, and machine control—ensuring they are equipped, motivated, and delivering against their targets. Reporting directly to the Board, you will be instrumental in implementing a comprehensive national sales plan and a new CRM system to streamline our sales processes and manage our extensive database of active and prospective accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage the national sales team, ensuring every member is supported and empowered to achieve their sales targets.
- Develop, implement, and refine a national sales plan in alignment with our ambitious growth objectives.
- Report directly to the Board, providing regular updates on performance, strategy, and market insights.
- Sales & Business Development:
- Drive business growth by identifying target customers, creating sales opportunities, and expanding our market presence.
- Manage a substantial database of active and prospective accounts, fostering positive relationships and converting leads into long-term business.
- Prepare and deliver engaging sales presentations, financial projections, and participate in regular sales meetings.
- CRM Implementation:
- Lead the implementation and management of a new CRM system to enhance the efficiency of our sales processes and provide insightful analytics.
- Ensure that the CRM system is fully integrated into the sales team’s daily activities, facilitating better customer engagement and data-driven decision-making.
- Work closely with colleagues from operations, technical support and other departments to develop comprehensive sales strategies and maximise opportunities.
- Represent PQS at networking events, conferences, trade fairs, and other industry-related gatherings.
To Secure This Role You Will Need:
- Proven experience in sales and leadership within the construction or plant hire sector, with a preference for those with knowledge of survey and safety equipment.
- A track record of being target-driven, with the ability to develop and implement strategic sales initiatives.
- Strong experience in leading and managing teams, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrable organisational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience in CRM system implementation and management is highly desirable.
- A positive, self-motivated attitude and the ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally.
- A full, clean driver’s licence is required for roles involving travel.
