Job Description
As our Musical Theatre teacher, you will deliver engaging and informative lessons that ignite the creativity and imagination of our students. Your expertise will guide them through the basic aspects of Musical Theatre and the rehearsal process. You will create at least one performance and one showcase per year with the children and young people. Your enthusiasm and dedication will shape the next generation of performance professionals while also focusing on the development of life skills through performance training.
PQA is a leading provider of weekend performing arts training and is currently looking for a Musical Theatre Teacher to work with our students at PQA Selby on Saturdays from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead Musical Theatre workshops with children aged 6β18, creating material for live performances and showcases.
- Plan and deliver engaging, fun lessons, and work on projects throughout the terms.
- Construct and oversee at least one performance and one showcase each year.
- Maintain a professional, punctual, and inspirational classroom environment.
- Secure and update a current DBS check and provide two references as part of the freelance contract process.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or background in Musical Theatre.
- Experience in directing or teaching live performances with children and young people.
- Strong background in singing, dancing, and acting in performance.
- Inspirational, dynamic personality, and sense of humour.
- Genuine passion for the subject and teaching.
- Professionalism and punctuality.

Start date: September 21st 2024.
Location: Saturday 8:30 am β 12:00 pm, PQA Selby.
