Role Description
The Business Development Manager – FM is a full-time, hybrid role based in York.
This role focuses on identifying and developing new business opportunities within facilities management, industry and the care sector, building strong relationships with existing and prospective customers, and driving revenue growth across the product range.
Day‑to‑day activities include prospecting and lead generation, conducting site visits and customer meetings, preparing quotations and proposals, and managing the sales pipeline from initial contact through to account onboarding.
The role also involves collaborating closely with internal teams on pricing, product knowledge, and service delivery, tracking performance against targets, and reporting on market trends and customer feedback.
The Business Development Manager is expected to represent PPS professionally in the market, promote the company’s values, and contribute to continuous improvement in customer service and sales processes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in business development, field sales, or account management, ideally within facilities management, cleaning, hygiene, or related sectors.
- Strong skills in relationship building, negotiation, and stakeholder management, with the ability to engage decision-makers at multiple levels.
- Competence in pipeline management, forecasting, and using CRM or sales management tools to track activity and performance.
- Solid understanding of B2B sales processes, including prospecting, qualification, proposal development, and closing deals.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain product benefits and value propositions clearly.
- Comfort with hybrid working, including self‑management, time planning, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with office‑based teams.

- Valid UK driving license and willingness to travel to customer sites across the region as required.
