Roles and Responsibilities
- Shall deliver the defined Quality vision and strategy for The Shepley Group.
- Shall be responsible for controlling and maintaining the concurrency of the quality plans.
- Shall ensure that customer quality deliverables are robustly controlled and fully certified prior to release/delivery.
- Shall carry out good inwards inspection of cables and high-risk equipment.
- Shall identify any defects and implement corrective action where necessary.
- Shall raise reports when issues are found (i.e. Defect Notices, EIR, SHEARS).
- Shall produce ICL’s to enable works and record inspections (including ferrules & cable markers).
- Shall raise project queries when identified to aid the Project team and review answers to action.
- Shall red pen project documentation when required in line with the project change control processes.
- Shall review site completed documents and assess report or test results to ensure they comply with the project requirements.
- Shall assist in the compiling and submission of the Lift Time Records.
- Shall carry out onsite/offsite inspections of installation works within your core skills.
- Shall carry out offsite inspections of Sub-Contractors/Vendor works within your core skills.
- Shall carry out surveillance on works to monitor installation activities to ensure compliance with the company procedures plus client specification.
- Shall maintain a site library of installation activities and plan inspections as required by the Quality plan.
- Shall assist with test instruments to ensure they are maintained in good conditions and are calibrated regularly.
- Promote and support reliable root cause analysis and deployment of lessons learnt within project QA and QC.
- Responsible for ensuring that the Quality representation at project reviews has the appropriate authority and confidence to challenge poor outputs and escape where necessary if local resolution cannot be achieved.
- Shall support Senior management with any reasonable request.
- Role model, coach and develop a proactive quality culture, sharing best practice principles, by providing guidance to the Project Managers and Engineers quality department.
- Liaise with Project Engineers, Supervisors and Operatives providing guidance and technical input where necessary.
- Manage your own workload and liaise with clients/end users to arrange site visits and completion of joint or separate inspections.
Mandatory training, education, and experience
- Successful completion of a relevant occupational competency certification scheme resulting in the issue of: The scheme’s certified card (e.g. the relevant card issued through the Construction Skills Certification Scheme CSCS, or the scheme’s Certification of Competence (JIB, ACE etc.).
- Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) Working Safely Certificate, specific client requirements e.g. Sellafield Working Safely for Contractors at Sellafield (or agreed alternative Passport Scheme).
- Experience in the field of the work they are being asked to carry out (e.g. construction work, services, maintenance etc.).
- Training experience in the methods and equipment to be utilised.
- Other additional training identified relevant to any specific contractual requirements.
