The number of planning and associated applications is over 5000 each year, ranging in size from large urban extensions to small scale agricultural buildings and domestic extensions.
The team also provides a paid for pre-application advice service, aimed at ensuring the submission of proposals that are likely to be supported.
The geographic area of the county is huge and the range of more local environments and demographics within it reflect this.
The challenge for the team moving forward is to continue to perform whilst also constantly looking at ways to improve and evolve, and the postholder will play an important role in this ambition.
