SEND Case Officer – Complex Annual Reviews
Local Authority: Shropshire
Rate: £290 per day
Working Arrangements: Full time, Remote Working
Pertemps are currently recruiting for an experienced SEND Case Officer to join a Shropshire local authority team, managing complex and escalated Annual Review cases.
The successful candidate will take ownership of challenging cases where review outcomes are disputed, unclear or require significant amendments, working closely with families, schools and professionals to progress cases effectively.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage complex and escalated Annual Review cases
- Handle disputes from parents and educational settings
- Manage requests for specialist and out-of-county placements
- Deal with significant changes to SEN provision
- Manage cases from review decision through to amended/final EHCP
- Prepare and present complex Annual Review outcomes to RCP panel
- Provide clear justification for funding uplifts, placement changes and specialist provision
- Work closely with parents/carers, schools, SENCOs, providers and other professionals
- Manage expectations and support the resolution of disputes, helping to minimise escalation to tribunal
Requirements:
- Strong experience working as a SEND/EHCP Case Officer
- Extensive experience managing Annual Reviews, particularly complex or disputed cases
- Good knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and statutory processes
- Experience presenting cases to panels and working with multiple stakeholders
- Strong communication, organisation and case management skills
