Make a real difference to a young person’s life working for our client who is looking for compassionate, resilient and motivated Children’s Residential Support Workers to join their team.

This is more than just a job. You will play an important role in providing a safe, caring and nurturing home for children and young people, helping them develop confidence, independence and the skills they need to achieve positive outcomes.

What you’ll be doing As a Children’s Residential Support Worker, you will:

  • Build positive, trusting and professional relationships with children and young people.
  • Provide consistent day-to-day care, support and guidance.
  • Create a safe, welcoming and homely environment.
  • Support young people with education, appointments, activities and everyday routines.
  • Encourage independence, positive choices and the development of practical life skills.
  • Plan and participate in recreational and community activities.
  • Support young people during difficult or challenging situations using calm and appropriate approaches.
  • Follow individual care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to handovers, meetings and reviews.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and other professionals.
  • Act as a positive role model and advocate for the children and young people in your care.

The shifts are 10am - 10pm plus a sleep-in and then 10am - 10pm with the sleep-in and then you would have four days off and then back on for 2 days.

About you We are looking for people who are:

  • Caring, patient and genuinely passionate about supporting children and young people.
  • Resilient and able to remain calm in challenging situations.
  • Reliable, responsible and able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Good communicators with the ability to build appropriate relationships.
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Flexible and willing to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins where required.

Previous experience in residential childcare, care, education, youth work or a similar setting would be an advantage, but your values, attitude and commitment to young people are equally important.

If you have over 12 months experience then they would require you to hold Level 3 in Childcare
