An established and growing landscaping business is looking to appoint an experienced Landscaping Contracts Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of projects, predominantly working with housebuilder clients across residential developments. This is a key position within the business and an opportunity for someone who wants to play a genuine role in its continued development. You will be responsible for ensuring contracts are delivered efficiently, profitably and to the high standards expected by both the business and its clients.

The successful candidate will be commercially minded, highly organised and confident dealing with clients, site teams, subcontractors and suppliers. Just as importantly, you will be someone who looks beyond simply managing the day-to-day workload and actively looks for ways to improve productivity, labour efficiency, cost control and internal processes.

The Role

  • Managing multiple landscaping contracts and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to specification.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients, developing strong and professional relationships with housebuilders and other stakeholders.
  • Planning labour, materials, plant and resources to ensure projects are adequately supported.
  • Working closely with site managers and operational teams to monitor progress and resolve issues quickly.
  • Reviewing project performance and identifying areas where costs, labour or processes can be improved.
  • Monitoring contract variations, additional works and commercial opportunities.
  • Maintaining effective control of project documentation, records and contractual information.
  • Tracking weekly targets, labour requirements, progress and productivity.
  • Producing clear management reports using Microsoft Excel.
  • Developing bespoke spreadsheets and reporting systems to provide greater visibility of performance and workload.
  • Identifying potential risks at an early stage and putting practical solutions in place.
  • Ensuring company procedures, client requirements and relevant standards are consistently maintained.
  • Supporting the wider management team with forward planning and operational decision-making.
  • Continuously looking for ways to make the business more efficient and improve overall contract performance.

About You

You will ideally already be working as a Contracts Manager, Senior Contracts Manager, Project Manager or similar within the landscaping sector and have a strong understanding of delivering commercial landscaping projects. Experience working with housebuilders and residential developments would be particularly advantageous.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has demonstrable experience managing landscaping contracts.
  • Understands the commercial and operational pressures of the landscaping industry.
  • Is confident managing client relationships and dealing with issues professionally.
  • Has strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Can manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Is commercially aware and understands the importance of controlling labour and project costs.
  • Is confident using Excel to analyse information and produce meaningful reports.
  • Has the initiative to create and improve systems rather than simply follow existing processes.
  • Is comfortable making decisions and finding solutions under pressure.
  • Has a practical, forward-thinking and solutions-focused approach.
  • Takes ownership and is prepared to get involved at every level to ensure projects succeed.
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Holds a valid CSCS card.
