Non-Working Scaffolding Supervisor
Location: Hertfordshire (Office-Based). Region Covered: Hertfordshire / London / South East.
A well-established Hertfordshire-based scaffolding contractor is seeking an experienced Non-Working Scaffolding Supervisor to oversee multi-site scaffolding operations across the South East. This role is office-based with regular site interface and is focused on operational control, compliance, and programme delivery rather than hands-on scaffolding work.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational supervision of scaffolding works across multiple live construction sites
- Ensure all scaffolding activities are carried out in accordance with TG20, SG4, NASC guidance, and project-specific RAMS
- Monitor site compliance with HSE legislation, company procedures, and client requirements
- Coordinate labour, plant, and materials to meet programme and productivity targets
- Liaise with project managers, site managers, and clients to ensure effective planning and sequencing of works
- Use Primavera P6 (or similar planning software) to track progress, update programmes, and report on delivery status
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and toolbox talks as required
- Identify operational issues and implement corrective actions to minimise delays and non-conformances
- Promote a proactive safety culture and maintain high standards of workmanship
Technical & Professional Requirements
- Proven supervisory or management experience within the scaffolding or construction sector
- Strong technical knowledge of scaffolding systems, temporary works, and access solutions
- Experience managing multiple projects concurrently across different locations
- Competent user of Primavera P6 or equivalent project planning software
- Strong understanding of UK health & safety legislation and best practice
- Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills
Desirable Qualifications
- SMSTS or SSSTS
- NEBOSH Construction or equivalent
- CISRS Supervisor / Advanced Scaffolder (advantageous but not essential)
