We are looking for a reliable and practical Handyperson to carry out general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep across our premises. The successful candidate will be confident using a range of hand and power tools, able to work independently, and take pride in completing work safely and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general repairs and maintenance across the property.
- Complete basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, decorating, tiling, and minor electrical tasks where appropriately qualified.
- Assemble, install, repair, and maintain fixtures, fittings, furniture, and equipment.
- Identify maintenance issues and report any work requiring specialist attention.
- Carry out routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
- Keep work areas clean, safe, and organised.
- Maintain tools and equipment and report any defects or replacements required.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and prioritise urgent repairs.
- Work in accordance with health and safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work and materials used.
- Work professionally and courteously with staff, customers, contractors, and visitors.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a handyperson, maintenance, property, construction, or similar role.
- Good practical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to undertake a variety of general maintenance tasks.
- Good attention to detail and a high standard of workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Good communication and customer-service skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible approach to work.
- Full UK driving licence is desirable, where travel between sites is required.
- Relevant trade qualifications are desirable.
Working Conditions
The role may involve lifting, carrying, working at height, bending, kneeling, and working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Appropriate personal protective equipment and training will be provided where required.
