Take charge of our sites. WCI Group's Construction Division is growing, and we're looking for an experienced groundworks Site Supervisor to oversee several drainage and civil engineering projects at once. Reporting to our Operations Manager, you'll lead our sub-contractors and their working foremen, own safety, quality, programme and cost on site, and be the person our Project Engineers rely on to turn their designs into well-built, profitable projects. It's a mainly supervisory role, but you'll be happy to jump on a digger or dumper when it keeps the job moving. Our Project Engineers win, design and price the work, and look after the client. You make sure it's built safely, right first time, on programme and on budget. As a new role, you'll bring consistent, experienced supervision across all our live sites - and have real influence over how WCI runs its construction work as the division grows. Health & Safety Lead and enforce WCI's safe systems of work across all your sites, fulfilling site supervision duties under CDM 2015. Review sub-contractor RAMS, deliver inductions, daily briefings and toolbox talks, and carry out site inspections (excavations, temporary works, plant, permits). Stop unsafe work, and report and investigate incidents and near misses with the Operations Manager. Sub-Contractor Management Direct and coordinate sub-contractors and their working foremen across multiple sites. Check competency cards, plant certification and insurances on site, and feed back on performance. Programme, Quality & Workmanship Plan and sequence labour, plant and materials to deliver the programme agreed with the Project Engineer, recovering delays early. Ensure work is built to drawings, specification and regulations (eg Building Regulations Part H, water company Design & Construction Guidance, NRSWA). Complete ITPs, test records (eg air / water tests, CCTV), photographs and as-builts for the QA file, and close out snagging before handover. Cost Control Control plant hire, materials and waste to deliver within budget. Capture daywork and variations promptly, and verify sub-contractor timesheets and applications. Problem Solving, Liaison & Environment Resolve day-to-day site issues - ground conditions, services, access, weather - escalating design and commercial matters to the Project Engineer. Represent WCI professionally with clients, residents and neighbours on site. Implement pollution prevention, spoil and waste management, protecting watercourses and the environment. Records, Plant & Vehicles Keep daily site diaries, inspection registers and progress photographs, and report weekly to the Operations Manager and Project Engineers. Operate excavators and dumpers when needed, and drive the company transit tipper between sites.Ensure plant and equipment is inspected, certified and used by competent operators.
