School Librarian

Job Title: School Librarian (DBS Required) Location: Birmingham, West Midlands Phase: Secondary Salary: £24,027 – £24,404 per annum (Pro-rata: £20,666.45 – £20,990.73) Hours: 37 hours per week Contract: Permanent, Term Time + 1 Week Closing Date: 27/05/2025 We are seeking a proactive and organised School Librarian to manage and develop our school library. This is a key role supporting both staff and students, promoting literacy, independent learning, and a love for reading across all year groups. Main Responsibilities: Maintain and develop the library as a vibrant, welcoming learning environment Support students with research, reading choices, and use of library resources Manage the library system, including cataloguing, loans, and stock control Promote reading through displays, events, and reading initiatives Liaise with teaching staff to support curriculum needsKey Requirements: Enhanced DBS – must be in place before starting Excellent organisational and communication skills NVQ Level 1/Level 2 or equivalent qualification.
