We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Landscape Manager to join a growing and forward-thinking business delivering commercial landscaping and grounds maintenance projects across Kent. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants more than just day-to-day site management. We are looking for an individual who can take ownership of projects, lead teams effectively, build long-term client relationships, and play a key role in the continued growth of the division.
The successful candidate will have a strong operational and commercial background within landscaping, grounds maintenance, arboriculture, or related sectors, with the confidence to manage contracts from initial enquiry through to completion.
The Role
As Landscape Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing a variety of commercial landscaping and grounds maintenance contracts, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and to a high standard. You will work closely with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and operational teams while supporting business growth through pricing, tendering, and identifying new opportunities. This is a hands-on management role suited to someone who is organised, commercially aware, and capable of leading from the front.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing commercial landscaping and grounds maintenance projects from mobilisation through to completion
- Organising labour, plant, materials, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project delivery
- Carrying out site visits, progress inspections, and quality checks
- Managing multiple sites and teams across varying project sizes
- Preparing quotations, pricing works, and assisting with tender submissions
- Monitoring project costs, profitability, and programme performance
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Ensuring all works are completed in line with health and safety regulations and company procedures
- Identifying opportunities for additional works and supporting business development
- Producing reports, site documentation, and operational updates where required
- Supporting and developing site supervisors and operatives to maintain high performance standards
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone with strong industry knowledge and previous experience managing landscaping or grounds maintenance operations within a commercial environment. The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience within commercial landscaping, grounds maintenance, arboriculture, or groundworks
- Experience managing operational teams and multiple live projects
- Strong commercial awareness with experience pricing works and managing budgets
- The ability to read specifications, drawings, and tender documents
- Excellent communication and client management skills
- A proactive and solution-focused approach to problem solving
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation and site compliance requirements
- Competent IT skills including Microsoft Office packages
- Full UK driving licence
Experience
- Experience working on local authority, commercial, or public realm contracts
- Horticultural or landscaping qualifications
