Excellent opportunity to join a leading specialist interiors sub-contractor based in Leicester. They provide interior packages for clients within the retail, healthcare, gyms, education and commercial offices sector from £50k to £4m in value throughout the UK. Ultimately they are regarded as one of the best in their sector.
The role of Quantity Surveyor takes commercial responsibility for the contract performance for allocated works to maximise both turnover and profitability for contracts allocated. Working with Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors throughout the UK.
The successful candidate will have experience as an established Quantity Surveyor within a similar business specialist sub-contractor or interiors main contractor. You will take commercial responsibility for contract performance to maximise both turnover and profitability and will adhere to a robust commercial process, ensuring that the client obtains continued high quality, value for money and effective change management.
- Monitoring retentions and preparing cash flow forecasts.
- Site visits for measurements/estimating and client progress meetings.
- Supplier order placement and negotiation.
- Developing internal processes, systems, and reporting structures to strengthen the QS function.
- Supporting the Directors in cost-saving initiatives and department growth.
Requirements:
- Commercially driven with excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Capable of working independently while also contributing to the growth of a team.
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- You will hold a relevant quantity surveying degree or equivalent qualification and will have experience as an active and effective team member in respect of cost and commercial matters on fast-track schemes with a high degree of change through the contract period.
- Interfacing with other members of the internal project team is vital, as is ensuring accuracy and quality to the standard required by the client.
