Salary equivalent of £50,336 + £5k shift allowance for working nights. £25.33 per hour (blended rate) PAYE. Mainly working 4 on 4 off continental shift patterns of days and nights (12hr days). Shift times are 6:30-18:30 & 18:30-6:30. Temp to perm opportunity for the right candidate. Role Requirements - Shift Engineer Criteria Essential Technical Skills & Experience * Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a technical engineering role within a commercial building, critical environment, data centre, or high end corporate site * Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance background (multi skilled preferred) * Confident carrying out PPM and reactive tasks on critical systems under time pressure * Experience working on shift in 24/7 environments * Competent with the following systems: * HVAC (AHUs, FCUs, ventilation systems) * Electrical distribution, lighting, and power * Pumps, motors, BMS controls, basic fault finding * Plumbing and general M&E plant * Ability to manage and prioritise alarms, callouts, and critical incidents * Comfortable coordinating with contractors and maintaining safe working procedures Certifications Required * Level 2 or 3 qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering * 18th Edition (for electrically biased engineers) * City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent trade certification * Right to Work documentation * CSCS/ECS card Shift Pattern & Expectations * Continental shift pattern (details can be provided but usually 12 hour days/nights) * Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently * Confident in client facing situations, maintaining a high level of professionalism * Ability to provide clear handovers between shifts Soft Skills & Behaviours * Calm under pressure * Strong problem solving skills * Good communication with the wider engineering team and site management * Safety focused mindset with strong compliance awareness Role Details * Immediate start preferred * Temporary (could be full time following a trial period), on-site role * Uniform and PPE provided if required
