PPM Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a growing organisation in the Manchester area. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially focused professional with a strong background in M&E maintenance, Facilities Management or Building Solutions to play a key role in driving business growth.

The Role

You will be responsible for identifying, developing and securing profitable M&E maintenance and technical compliance contracts. The role will focus on generating new business opportunities, developing strong relationships with key property and facilities stakeholders, and converting opportunities into long-term, profitable partnerships. You will be expected to build influential relationships with decision-makers, engage confidently with technical stakeholders, understand client requirements and develop commercially viable solutions.

Key details:

  • Hybrid working, with regular client and site visits
  • Head office based in Denton, Manchester
  • Salary: £60,000-£65,000, depending on experience
  • Car allowance provided

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years' business development experience within commercial M&E maintenance, Facilities Management or Building Solutions
  • Proven track record of winning maintenance contracts valued between £100k and £2m per annum
  • Established relationships with managing agents and commercial property professionals
  • Strong technical understanding of M&E maintenance services
  • Ability to interpret specifications and identify commercial opportunities
  • Experience conducting site surveys
  • Experience contributing to pricing strategies and commercial proposals
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable Experience:

  • Engineering qualification or previous engineering experience
  • Experience using Maximo or similar CAFM systems
  • Experience responding to OJEU/Public Sector tenders
  • An established network across the North West and Midlands
