The Opportunity

Our client is a well-established and highly respected main contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality construction projects across Slough, Berkshire, and the surrounding South East region. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are looking to recruit an ambitious Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding commercial team.

Projects Include:

  • Education facilities and school extensions
  • Healthcare and medical refurbishments
  • Commercial office developments and fit-outs
  • Industrial and warehouse schemes
  • Residential and mixed-use developments
  • New-build and refurbishment contracts valued between 500k and 10m+

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager, you will assist with the commercial management of projects from tender stage through to final account, gaining valuable exposure to every aspect of quantity surveying.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with cost planning, estimating, and tender preparation
  • Measuring and valuing construction works
  • Supporting subcontractor procurement and account management
  • Preparing interim valuations and assisting with final accounts
  • Monitoring project costs and budgets
  • Assisting with variations, change control, and cost reporting
  • Attending site visits, client meetings, and project progress meetings
  • Maintaining accurate commercial records and project documentation
