We are recruiting for X6 Facilities Assistants to work on the soft services team at a hospital in Bristol. The work involves carrying out cleaning, catering and porter duties.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Cleaning: Day to day cleaning of various areas, including staff and public amenities, offices, meeting and training spaces, clinical outpatient areas and clinical inpatient areas as per cleaning schedules compliant with NHS Cleaning Standards. Ad hoc and periodic cleaning such as high level cleans, carpet cleaning, rotary wash, external jet washing of pathways, bins and fleet vehicles. Reactive cleaning such as deep cleans, spills and leaks.
- Catering: Ward kitchen food and drink service and catering block food preparation and management.
- Portering: Stock control, goods in services, ward clean downs, and transportation between sites of equipment and supplies using a company van.
You will also be required to participate in training as directed by the Facilities Team Leader, including training in cleaning techniques and mandatory training such as Fire Safety, Moving & Handling, COSHH, and Infection Control.
It is essential that candidates have an enhanced DBS (dated within the last 12 months) and that you are flexible and reliable. You must have food hygiene level 2; if you do not have it already, we can provide a link to complete it online, which takes a couple of hours and costs around £15.
We are looking for candidates who are hard working, committed, flexible, reliable, and have experience working in a catering/cleaning/portering role in a commercial environment.
The shifts will be 7am - 5pm and 10am - 8pm with a 30-minute break, resulting in 9.5 hours of work for each shift. The schedule is 4 days on and 4 days off, with long-term positions available for 3 months or more, and a good chance of being made permanent if all goes well.

Pay rates:
- Weekdays: Up to £15.13 p/h inc. holiday pay
- Saturdays: Up to £19.67 p/h inc. holiday pay
- Sundays: Up to £22.70 p/h inc. holiday pay
