Temporary Litter Picker / Street Cleansing Operative
Hourly Rate: 14.24 per hour - 06:00 - 09:00
Contract Duration: 4th August - 23rd August (Fixed-Term / Seasonal)

Key Responsibilities
- Litter Collection: Systematically patrol designated routes or event spaces to collect waste using manual litter pickers, hoops, and sacks.
- Waste Management & Bin Maintenance: Regularly empty public and site litter/dog waste bins, ensuring waste sacks are correctly tied, sorted, and disposed of in designated skip/compactor areas.
- Hand Sweeping & Detritus Removal: Use brooms, shovels, and barrows to sweep pavements, edges, and high-footfall areas to remove glass, debris, and fallen leaves.
- Hazard & Issue Reporting: Identify and report fly-tipping, broken glass, sharp objects, damaged site furniture, or graffiti to site supervisors immediately.
- Public Interaction: Act as a courteous and helpful representative of the organization when in contact with members of the public, residents, or visitors.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Consistently wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (Hi-Vis, safety boots, puncture-resistant gloves) and follow strict COSHH and manual handling guidelines.

- Physical Fitness: Ability to walk extensive distances (several miles daily), bend, lift, and work active shifts outdoors in varying weather conditions.
