About the Team

The Distribution department turns PPL’s data inputs (the money received, the music usage reported, and the recordings registered by its members) into payments for performers and record companies.

What you’ll be doing:

  • You will work with the Distribution Business Manager to produce and maintain annual delivery plans for the payments that PPL makes to members throughout the year, as well as coordinating other workstreams that involve various teams across the company.
  • To report progress against these plans to the wider business, highlighting key activities and deadlines as well as areas of risk or resource contention.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong understanding of Music Royalties distribution processes, systems and data flows to support effective planning and analysis.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of distribution processes by maintaining accurate documentation and identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide analytical support to the Distribution Business Manager and wider team, including scenario modelling and planning input where required.
  • Support the development and coordination of annual distribution delivery plans, ensuring timelines are achievable and members are paid accurately and on time.
  • Analyse resource requirements across distribution activities, helping to identify potential scheduling conflicts and support effective allocation of staff and system capacity.
  • Produce and maintain regular distribution reporting, providing clear insight into progress, risks and issues to support stakeholder understanding and decision‑making.

About You

As Distribution Planning Analyst (Music Royalties) you will have the ability to analyse data and manage a complex work plan, which involves working with many internal and external stakeholders. By providing clear and regular updates on progress and upcoming tasks, you will ensure that colleagues are aware of what’s required of them by when, and how this fits into the overall process of distributing money to record companies and performers.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience of coordinating projects with multiple elements.
  • Demonstrable experience of working under pressure to tight deadlines and managing conflicting priorities.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Good time management skills and communication skills (written, verbal and listening), with the ability to present information concisely, and to communicate in manners applicable to all levels of seniority.
  • Adept in risk and issue identification and working proactively with people to understand and resolve problems.
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team to make things happen – turning ideas and strategies into realities, outcomes and processes.
  • Good attention to detail, with a focus on delivery to deadlines and high standards.
  • Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills with demonstrable experience in the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
