The Salesforce Architect is a key member of our Enterprise applications and development team at PPL PRS. In addition to being responsible for designing scalable solutions across our Salesforce implementation, we are looking for a proactive individual who can understand both our current setup and our business objectives, to quickly identify areas of improvement and provide positive user experience. The role is working on a hybrid basis and we are based in our modern Leicester city centre office.

The ideal candidate will be an individual aspiring to progress in time to a Salesforce Architect role, happy liaising with stakeholders at all levels, with the ability to translate technical designs for a non-technical audience, clearly explaining rationale, benefits and potential impact. The Salesforce Architect acts as trusted technical advisor across the business, building relationships with our non-technical colleagues to ensure trust in and support of solutions built as well as providing mentorship to those working alongside you in Technology.

A creative and inquisitive approach to problem solving with strong analytical skills with the desire to troubleshoot and put quality first. A quick learner with a deep technical understanding of Salesforce, data integration (methodologies, storage, tooling, etc.) and analytics, with the ability to communicate this on all levels. An enterprise mindset, with the ability to think critically about data, security and systems integrations both within Salesforce and the wider technology landscape. Able to design scalable, secure solutions providing industry best practice application, enhancing user experience and maintaining a system that meets the customer needs. Develop the necessary technical and business process skills to support the technical teams and the business. Proven experience in implementing new and optimising mature Salesforce orgs, demonstrating adaptability and innovation, in-depth understanding of Salesforce data structure to optimise system performance and efficiency. Experience in change management and governance, working with Agile methodologies and practices, including DevOps and release management. Stakeholder management experience and the confidence to challenge where required. Demonstrates continued personal/professional development. The desire to work independently and proactively, as well as being a team player. Excellent communication, both written and verbal, hand in hand with good listening skills. Superior organisation skills including outstanding accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks, use initiative and be self-directed to meet deadlines. A diplomatic, ‘can-do’ attitude, with an ability to operate with a flexible approach in a changing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain both high- & low-level design documents to support both Salesforce and integrated systems, encompassing core UI / UX, security and integration requirements.
  • Create and contribute to design & technical standards documentation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the business to create prototypes/proofs of concept to define or refine requirements.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to our Admins, Developers & QAs.
  • Identify and gather requirements, translating into best practice, scalable solutions with a focus on exceptional user experience.
  • Identify unused or underutilised platform features and work with the business to introduce them.
  • Own the design, both solution & technical designs, throughout discovery, design & build.
  • Support management of integrated applications and third-party suppliers including Financial Force (Now Certinia), Salesforce CPQ, Vonage telephony, Jitterbit, Pardot, Conga, Gearset, Ownbackup.
  • Support with change control and best practices with regards to system monitoring, optimisation, maintenance, configuration, development, testing, data integrity, etc.
  • Support with the introduction and evolution of strategic governance processes, including technical, data and security strategies.
  • Take on the role of technical lead in strategic projects, designing and delivering solutions (including hands on development) as required by the project and set out by the project manager.
  • Gather and record requirements.
  • Effectively communicate with the project team, providing updates on progress, risks and time frames.
  • Manage expectations and handle objections appropriately.
  • Champion and support the adoption and usage of relevant technologies and tools by the business.
  • Actively seek to improve and invest in personal development.
  • Support the on-time delivery of solution or enhancements.

Experience & Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Strong Salesforce product knowledge with at least 3 years of hands-on Salesforce development experience, that includes Salesforce CPQ or Revenue Cloud.
  • Experience with and understanding of both programmatic and declarative development capabilities of the Salesforce platform.
  • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer, Salesforce Certified Platform Administrator, Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder, Salesforce Certified Agentforce Specialist.
  • Experience working with enterprise integration tools (Jitterbit, MuleSoft, etc.).
  • Experience designing solutions for complex business processes and an integrated system landscape.
  • Experience creating technical design documentation at a high- and low-level.

Desirable:

  • Experience with Certinia, Pardot (MCAE), Experience Cloud, OmniStudio, Agentforce, Data Cloud and Ownbackup.
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence for Agile Delivery and Documentation.
  • Experience of coaching others on system understanding and best practices.
  • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer II, Salesforce Certified Platform Administrator II, Salesforce Certified Sales Cloud Consultant, Salesforce Certified Service Cloud Consultant.
  • Additional Salesforce Certifications would be advantageous.
