To lead, plan and successfully deliver a range of change initiatives, ranging from small to complex large-scale projects from our business and technology roadmaps. Performing a range of duties spanning analysis, project management and acting as product owner whilst utilising a range of delivery methodologies, as appropriate to the project’s needs with a bias towards agile delivery practices. This role encompasses the full delivery lifecycle, from idea to launch and maintains all governance processes and procedures, including business case documentation for projects, to ensure we are delivering successful and sustainable projects with clearly defined and achievable business benefits.

What you will be doing:

  • Undertake pre-project analysis activities, qualifying and defining problem or opportunity to support proposal submission and delivery objectives.
  • Support project selection based on a weighted benefits matrix and management judgement.
  • Work alongside stakeholders to define project requirements, scope and goals, completing project definition documents for sponsor sign off.
  • Project manage allocated projects from our roadmap.
  • Work alongside stakeholders and the finance team to ensure business cases for projects are defined and achievable business benefits are documented for all projects on the roadmap.
  • Facilitate, support and adhere to all project governance processes, as defined in the PPL PRS Project Charter and the PPL PRS Portfolio and Project Management Framework.
  • Identify required resource and manage this across the delivery of projects.
  • Ensure that risks and issues are identified and managed, owning escalation where required.
  • Requirements definition, user story creation and backlog prioritisation, including running agile ceremonies where required.
  • Ensure that project plans are defined, maintained, and shared with project teams.
  • Lead and motivate project teams.
  • Manage project budgets, where appropriate.
  • Track project performance and provide required reporting on delivery.
  • Support implementation of projects, including change management activities to ensure projects embed into our business.
  • Support the wider Technology & PMO team in understanding the impact, documenting requirements, and planning the delivery of enhancement/minor technology changes.
  • Display excellent leadership skills and build relationships to manage both executive level and shareholder stakeholders.

You will have:

  • At least 5 years working experience in a project management role - essential.
  • Proven experience of managing and delivering successful complex large-scale projects across multiple methodologies, with a focus on Agile delivery in a technology setting.
  • Project Management certification – PRINCE2, PMP, APM or similar – (essential).
  • Experience in business analysis techniques.
  • Experience in Agile Project Management and the Product owner role.
  • Strong knowledge of project management tools or software (e.g. Microsoft Project, JIRA Portfolio).
  • Strong knowledge of Agile tracking software (e.g. JIRA, Azure Devops).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experienced in managing executive level stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing a project budget – forecasting costs, tracking actuals, forecasting product revenue or FTE savings.
  • Able to construct and deliver presentations, presenting options and clear recommendations to a high standard.
  • Must be organised and able to manage own priorities and workload.
  • Experience in collating and distributing progress reporting to senior stakeholders.
