To provide a variety of generalist HR, Recruitment and Learning and Development support in order to assist the People Services team create an environment where our employees feel valued, inspired and supported to do their best performance.
What you will be doing
- Human Resources
- Support line managers through monitoring, reporting and managing sickness, absence and lateness and advising where appropriate action should be taken, accurately preparing documentation where required.
- Support and assist in employee relations meetings such as disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance reviews.
- Respond to queries from managers and employees providing effective HR advice and guidance on employment matters, HR processes, policies and procedures.
- Keep up to date with the latest UK Employment Law and HR best practice to ensure advice and guidance is accurate and up to date.
- Contribute to the review and updating of the HR policies and supporting documentation in line with current legislation and best practice, as directed.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR systems and practices.
- Support line managers through monitoring and managing the performance management process and misconduct, accurately preparing documentation where required.
- Undertake HR project work when required.
- Support the business with the production of relevant data to drive HR metrics and KPIs.
- Assist with preparing employment paperwork and managing the pre-employment screening process as required.
- Recruitment
- Manage day-to-day administration of the internal recruitment system and creation of new vacancies.
- Place adverts internally and externally using company website, and other external sites as well as social media sites.
- Update trackers with accurate candidate and vacancy data.
- Coordinate interviews, manage diaries, send confirmations, prepare interview packs and follow up on feedback ensuring candidates have a positive experience and ensuring they have all the required information in preparation for their interview.
- Manage Right to Work checks.
- Support preparation of monthly KPIs.
- Support recruitment events and assessment activity as needed.
- Manage the generic recruitment email inbox, ensuring all enquiries are dealt with in a timely manner.
- Learning & Development
- Provide administrative support for the learning & development system.
- Co-ordinate room bookings and delegate invitations for learning and development workshops.
- Create induction schedules for Support Services new starters and all work experience placements.
- Manage the stationery and merchandising stock levels and build induction starter packs.
- Oversee the learning and development inbox, and action all emails and enquiries received.
- Update the training system with new documents and ensure other documents are up to date.
- Undertake any other duties as required.
You will have
- Proven work experience as an HR Assistant or similar role with CIPD Level 3 qualification.
- Up to date knowledge of employment legislation.
- Experience of working with and advising line managers.
- Demonstrable ability to plan, organise and prioritise own workload.
- Knowledge and experience of supporting multiple stakeholders.
- Team focussed with an ability to work on own initiative.
- Enthusiastic, approachable and professional.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when handling documentation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a professional manner.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask.
- Be able to maintain strict confidentiality in relation to the work undertaken.
