The Colour Design Consultant is responsible for maintaining and growing our PPG UK&I colour/design support across all of PPG's customer base. They will support with colour advice and solutions for our key market sectors, Education, Social Housing, Healthcare and Hospitality.
The Colour Design Consultant will work as part of a team along with the Colour Design Manager for a one PPG approach, to provide colour credentials via digital platforms. A primary objective is to drive our Voice of Colour Palette to become our customers and their clients' first choice and to ensure PPG maximises the opportunity and disrupts the competitors' path to market.
Key Responsibilities
- To create Colour Design solutions in line with industry legislations, using digital platforms and tools to help influence and enhance PPG's credibility within the Specification market.
- Evolve our current CAD and Digital Design services using the PPG brand Voice of Colour Palette.
- Build pre-determined CAD edited images to be used for our key market sectors, if required.
- Assist with Colour & Design by providing a comprehensive colour rendering service, to leverage business opportunities.
- Provide colour insight advice to new and existing customers, consisting of Trade Direct, Specification, Stockists, Decorating Centre Network and Marketing.
- Provide colour insights and produce insightful content on trends and industry developments to ensure PPG's approach is up-to-date and market leading.
- To perceive and mirror colour choices with customer style and preference. Ability to listen and provide colour options to complement architectural styles, regional palettes as well as visual appeal.
- Drive end to end business activity through the ClientLink platform, ensuring all information and data is concise and transparent.
- Extend technical colour support/solutions to our PC and EWI teams aimed at achieving a competitive advantage maximising sales opportunities (as required).
- Provide colour advice and samples for our DIY market (daily).
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Preferred - National diploma in art, design, architecture, or Colour affects system of applied colour psychology.
- Preferred - Educated to diploma standard or qualified through appropriate levels of experience.
- Preferred - Knowledge of colour design and architecture and also the painting and decorating industry.
- Preferred - Proven colour and design application skills.
- Essential - Proficient verbal and written communication skills with knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop and web-based applications.
- Preferred - Ability to prepare reports/presentations and analyse and disseminate information in a clear and concise manner under pressure and to deadlines.
- Essential - Project management and organisational skills with the ability to recognise key priorities and focus efforts where it will give the best return.
- Essential - Self-driven and able to work under own initiative.
- Preferred - Full UK Driving License.
