The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 Β£ per year.
To complete reactive and planned maintenance on all plant, equipment and buildings to ensure the minimum impact on daily production. This ensures maximum output to service our Architectural Coatings customers. To also ensure that every task is completed in a safe working environment and being responsible for reporting and safety hazards immediately.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out frequency based Preventive Maintenance plans to site standards across all areas of the site and rectify any issues found.
- Diagnose breakdown causes and repair efficiently and effectively to ensure minimum downtime is seen in production of goods.
- Carry out equipment installations as required to current organisational and regulatory standards and be involved in or familiar with any project plans for the installation of new equipment.
- Proactively suggest where something in the engineering function can be modified and improved such as equipment, plant and processes.
- Calibrate instrumentation including weighing systems, flow control, level indicators etc.
- Provide technical advice, training support and information to departmental managers, supervisors, staff and external contractors relating to electrical/mechanical systems and equipment.
- Carry out effective 5S processes and housekeeping of workshop and plant areas affected by all maintenance activities.
- Be proactive in business process improvement initiatives and be aware of equipment performance trends such as efficiency, quality and waste.
- Respond to reactive/corrective maintenance requests in a timely manner to reduce the impact on plant/machinery downtime.
Key Skills
- Multi-skilled, however, mechanically biased with electrical knowledge is accepted.
- Previous experience of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work at height.
- Ability to work to deadlines, under pressure and unsupervised.
- Quality and Health & Safety awareness.
- The Maintenance Engineer MUST have a minimum C&G Level 3 Mechanical or Electrical qualification.
- Instrumentation Calibration experience (essential for electrical bias).
- 18th Edition IEE Wiring regulations trained and certified (essential for electrical bias).
- IPAF/FLT trained and certified.
- Willingness to be flexible.
- Good communications skills at all levels.
- Proactive and enthusiastic attitude.
