We now have an exciting new opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our team in Stowmarket. This position will involve completing reactive and planned maintenance on all plant equipment to ensure minimal impact on daily production. It will also ensure that every task is completed in a safe working environment and is responsible for reporting any safety hazards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out frequency based preventive maintenance plans to site standards across all areas of the site and rectify any issues found.
- Diagnose breakdown causes and repair efficiently and effectively to ensure minimum downtime is seen in production of goods.
- Carry out equipment installations as required to current organisational and regulatory standards and be involved in or familiar with any project plans for the installation of new equipment.
- Proactively suggest where something in the engineering function can be modified and improved such as equipment, plant and processes.
- Calibrate instrumentation including weighing systems, flow control, level indicators etc.
- Provide technical advice, training support and information to departmental managers, supervisors, staff and external contractors relating to electrical/mechanical systems and equipment.
- Carry out effective 5S processes and housekeeping of workshop and plant areas affected by all maintenance activities.
- Be proactive in business process improvement initiatives and be aware of equipment performance trends such as efficiency, quality and waste.
- Respond to reactive/corrective maintenance requests in a timely manner to reduce the impact on plant/machinery downtime.
Key Skills:
- Multi-skilled, however, mechanically biased with electrical knowledge is accepted.
- Previous experience of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is ideal.
- Ability to work to deadlines and unsupervised.
- Quality and health & safety awareness.
- Minimum Level 3 qualification or apprentice trained.
- Good communication skills at all levels.
- Proactive and enthusiastic attitude.
